Jewelry Materials and Care

General Jewelry Care

Our jewelry is made with quality metals including Jewelers Brass, Bronze, and Sterling Silver. We choose not to plate any of our jewelry, which means that it will patina with time. Many people like the warm patina that forms on brass and bronze, but if you'd like to keep your jewelry shiny, we recommend using a polishing cloth regularly. Storing your jewelry separately and keeping it away from moisture will go a long way. We recommend removing your jewelry before showering, sweating or swimming.

Rings

Your ring is made of Bronze or Sterling Silver. Bronze contains copper, which may respond to the PH of your skin by leaving a faint green mark. This is a harmless and normal reaction rather than a reflection on the quality of the metal. This should lessen the more that you wear your Bronze ring, but to minimize the effect, you may want to remove your ring before washing your hands, showering, or sweating. You may also consider applying a coat of non toxic clear nail polish on the inside of the band.

Etched Brass Pieces

We apply tarnish to the indents on most of our etched brass pieces. This makes the design stand out. Using a polishing cloth may remove some of this tarnish. If you would like your pieces re-tarnished and cleaned up, please submit a request through our contact page.
